LADIES MAN- Frederick Germaine

23 Mar

Frederick Germaine has always been fascinated how writing could be so intriguing. It takes dedication and an imaginable thought process to capture an audience within a good novel. After writing leisurely for years, Frederick Germaine decided to pen his first novel. Ladies Man is an entertaining love novel from a male-perspective. He wrote the novel because he felt almost everyone has previously been in love, is currently in love or simply seeking love. Thus, we all can relate to it. After the release of Ladies Man, Frederick Germaine was featured in Xtra Magazine.

Besides being an author, Frederick Germaine is an advocate for mentorship programs. He currently serves as a mentor to the youth and young adults. Additionally, he is a motivational speaker compelling individuals to make the right choices in life.

Frederick Germaine graduated from Jacksonville State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He currently resides in Atlanta where he continues to write and promises to deliver another hot novel.

Q&A With Frederick Germaine

BS: When did you begin writing and realized your passion for it?

Frederick Germaine: I have been writing for years now but mostly for just leisure. It wasn’t until recently, I wanted to write and publish my own works. I wanted to share my thoughts, ideas, and stories to a wide audience via my novels. I’ve always had a passion for writing whether it be stories, novels, poems and even songs since I was kid. The passion continues to burn in me to write when people say they enjoy my works. Thus, the passion for writing never dies.

BS: What genre are your books? Will your novels only focus on one genre?

Frederick Germaine: My first novel Ladies’ Man (April 29, 2011) focuses on love and romance. I was inspired to write it because I felt everyone can relate to love in some form or fashion. My second novel Eye Candy set for release in February 2012 is also a love and romance novel. I guess you can say my overall genre is Urban Fiction because I love reading African-American Literature. There is a big market in Urban Fiction despite what some people may say.
BS: We know that being a writer requires a lot of patience and hard work. What keeps you going and encourages you?
Frederick Germaine: Michael Baisden has been my biggest role model. I’ve read all his books and he was one of the first early pioneers of Urban Fiction. Not only does he encourage me to be right, he compels individuals to achieve their goals, supports entrepreneurs, and does so much for the African-American community. Without him, Ladies’ Man would have never been written.
Writing a 200 to 300 page novel takes a lot of hard work and dedication that so many people don’t realize. You have to develop a well-defined plot, characters and storyline that’s going to captivate your audience. I guess you can say that statement alone “challenges” me to be the best writer I can be. Despite writers’ block and a few sleepless nights, trying to finishing writing a chapter or two I feel obligated to move forward. Otherwise, I’d be letting my audience and fans down.
BS: How many novels do you plan to write in the next ten years?
Frederick Germaine: My initial goal is to write two novels per year. So in ten years I should have twenty novels under my belt. But that can change because I find myself writing more and more everyday and pushing myself to publish more works. Once I finish writing a novel, I move on to the next one, even if it hasn’t been released yet. This keeps me ahead of the curve and my competition.
BS: What are your book signing dates? When and Where?

Frederick Germaine: All upcoming events can be viewed on my website (www.frederickgermaine.com) which is set to launch real soon. I have a lot of hot promos and book signings planned in the near future. I’m hoping to create a hot buzz with my debut release of Ladies’ Man on 04/29/2011.
